Boulbon, a whole story
Boulbon is a typical medieval Provençal village. It is fortified and dominated by its castle protected by two lines of ramparts (only parts of which remain today).
“The village has a long history,” explains the document written by the association Les Amis du vieux Boulbon . “Its history begins in the 11th century, when the name Boulbon first appeared . However, a human presence existed long before. Flint tools and pottery shards dating from the 2nd millennium BC have been found (…). ”

The Bonnet mill and its missing twin, the Berlandier mill, were built in 1776. They actively operated until the 2012th century. They are then replaced by industrial flour mills. Deteriorated by time, the Bonnet mill was completely restored in XNUMX and is now working again.
It is put into service every year to grind wheat and make village bread.

Thus, climbing to the Bonnet mill is the opportunity for a pleasant hike in the Montagnette massif.

From the village, on foot, allow half an hour of strolling to reach the mill.

The mill is open to visitors, from mid-September to mid-May, every second and fourth Saturday of the month from 14:30 p.m. to 17:30 p.m. or by appointment.
