A creative stopover in Tarascon

Just steps from Tarascon's town hall, directly across from an incredible upholsterer and decorator, between a beauty salon and an (excellent) restaurant, I head to the boutique "La Place des Artisans" (The Artisans' Square) . Take the plunge and go in! You'll discover a treasure trove of original creations, including clothing, leather goods, jewelry, and… herbal teas. A burst of creative energy!

A designer boutique in the heart of Tarascon

At the entrance of the boutique "La Place des Artisans ," I met Véronica Herisson, a seamstress and designer specializing in medieval costumes. Véronica gave me a warm welcome and explained, "There are six of us designers working in the shop right now, and we've each taken turns running the shop. Today, it's my turn." A happy coincidence, no doubt. Véronica put down her current embroidery project and showed me her creations: small leather goods, wallets, purses, pouches, and small bags that she makes from leftover fabrics and leathers used in the making of medieval clothing.

From Moldova to Tarascon

“I’m a leather goods engineer. In Moldova, I was a university professor teaching leather garment making. Since moving to Tarascon seven years ago, I’ve been trying to develop my skills.” Having come from Moldova to Provence seven years ago for a fashion show, Veronica met her future husband and settled in Tarascon for love… “I love Tarascon! It’s so different from my country. I’m used to it and I feel good here.”
